Murasu System Sdn Bhd, was incorporated in 22 July 1998 to address to the needs of regional language users on computer platforms. With this software, Muthu Nedumaran, was developed by its founder, called Murasu Anjal, web browsers and other commonly used productivity software.
The company’s first product, mail readers, users were able to compose complex-script text in word-processing applications, in the year 1985. Over 50 different fonts and a dozen input-methods have been built and licensed to device manufacturers.
The company expanded its portfolio of products to include font and input method development in all of the Indic and Indo-Chinese languages. It is a software tool that extends the computer system with features that provides the ability to read and write in languages that are not native to the operating platform. Prior to the product developed by the company, called Murasu Anjal, it was not possible for computer users to create and publish documents in languages like Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi in Malaysia.
Murasu Anjal’s Input Methods and fonts are now part of several operating systems including Mac OS, iOS and Android devices from HTC.
